Review

Combining 2 kung fu heroes in one movie, and both of them playing lead roles proves to be a huge success for The Forbidden Kingdom. The actions produced were top class. So does the graphic, photography and visual effects. If you enjoyed the visual effects on Narnia, Forbidden Kingdom deliver the same quality if not even more.

With lot’s of eyes popping actions, simple story line (some critics said it is out of focus), added with Jackie Chan sense of humor, this film is indeed entertaining.

Congkak VS Jangan Pandang Belakang

Photobucket

SINOPSIS

REVIEW

Terus terang, Congkak gagal menandingi kejayaan filem seram pertama Ahmad Idham - Jangan Pandang Belakang.

PTK? Mansuh?

Yada .. yada.. yada…..

Yes CUEPACS have managed to persuade the government to abolished the PTK examinations. In fact they have been voicing out their dissatisfactions on PTK since like FOREVER. For those of you who are not familiar with this issue, briefly, PTK is an assessment method used by the government to evaluate the competencies of civil servant. PTK is one of the crucial factor for confirmations and promotions. Should one failed the assessment, they will not be promoted. So why is it such a huge issue? Firstly because, some of the civil servants argue that, the questions were not related to their field  of work. For example, people who are doing human resource would not know so much about International Relations and vice versa. And people who do admin wont be knowing a lot about finance and etc.  There are also arguments that, those who actually excelled in PTK exams don’t actually perform in their actual work. That’s how they got the time to study and score A’s in their examinations.

I beg to differ from those arguments. So far I have sat for 2 PTK exams. The first one while I was still at grade 41 (PTK 1), at that point of time, my nature of work was SOLELY international relations. I sat for PTK 3 recently, and  now I am doing admin focusing on Quality. Yet, for those 2 exams, I passed without any problems (although not with flying colors). It is true that the exams was a bit difficult. But then again, it help us to learnt about things that we never experienced before. So at least we have some theory and basic idea on what it is all about. It also helps to diversified our skills and knowledge. So that we would eventually become good officers and assets to the government.

As always there’s two sides of a coin. Most probably the best way is to revise the whole PTK systems, in order to make it more relevant and effective. But by abolishing the system, the civil service will be taking a few step backwards, back to the days where there are no proper evaluations for promotions. During the Sistem Saraan Baru (SSB) years, everybody complaint about the sole power of bosses in evaluating and recommending officers for promotions. Due to those complaints the government has revised the evaluation process and introduced PTK. But then again after a few years, we heard some complaints about PTK also.

Giving it a deep thought, regardless what methods  or how the evaluation process going to be, the basic rules are, love your job although they wont love you back and Saya Yang Menurut Perintah. If you are excellence, EXCELLENCE  lah kan… regardless what methods used to evaluate you, you will still be EXCELLENCE?

Betul?

ps:/just came back from an interview at JPA, bersemangat waja nih. Maka bermula lah satu era pernantian yang sungguh menyeksakan. Hmmm

way back into love

Photobucket

The movie was on astro recently. It was called Music and Lyrics. Hugh Grant with Drew Barrymore played  a couple who felt for each other while they are trying to write a song for a pop superstar. Enjoy the song people, it is kind of cute.

I’ve been living with a shadow overhead,

I’ve been sleeping with a cloud above my bed,

I’ve been lonely for so long,

Trapped in the past, I just can’t seem to move on!

I’ve been hiding all my hopes and dreams away,

Just in case I ever need them again someday,

I’ve been sitting aside time,

To clear a little space in the corners of my mind!

All I want to do is find a way back into love.

I can’t make it through without a way back into love.

Oooooh.

I’ve been watching but the stars refuse to shine,

I’ve been searching but i just don’t see the signs,

I know that it’s out there,

There’s got to be something for my soul somewhere!

I’ve been looking for someone to shed some light,

Not somebody just to get me through the night,

I could use some direction,

And I’m open to your suggestions.

All I want to do is find a way back into love.

I can’t make it through without a way back into love.

And if I open my heart again,

I guess I’m hoping you’ll be there for me in the end!

There are moments when I don’t know if it’s real Or if anybody feels the way I feel

I need inspiration

Not just another negotiation

All I want to do is find a way back into love,

I can’t make it through without a way back into love,

And if I open my heart to you,

I’m hoping you’ll show me what to do,

And if you help me to start again,

You know that I’ll be there for you in the end!
