…. aparaa….

I am so excited about the grand reunion we are now planning. In fact I called people that I haven’t met for more than 14 years now. I also kept inviting those who appear to be online in my YM list.

Some were as excited as me if not even more. But some came out with excuses like :

1- “Tak mau lah.. I got nothing to prove”

2- ” Semua orang pun macam dah lain…takut tak boleh masuk”

3- ” Korang lain la…”

To all my friends with this inferiority complex, I do hope you understand that, we are not initiating this gathering to give everybody opportunity to show off their big cars… their expensive bags or hand phone, or their achivements in life.  We are doing this gathering because, we wanted to recapture the good memories of those old days, the mistakes we’ve done, the joy we had, the fun we created and the friendship that we treasured.

Who cares, if you are driving a kancil and not a mercedes, using old phone and not some fancy pda, divorce/single and not married or what ever..

It is all about sincerity in our friendship and the spirit of our teenage years while we were MRSM MUAR students.

I do hope these idiots - understand and even if they dont … like anid put it - tak kebulur wehhh!

Life Style Evolution

My buddies and I had a great gossipping session recently. The story  revolved around old friends from school, where they are, what they do, how many kids they have and etc. Alhamdullillah, everybody is doing fine and  for some MORE than fine. Enjoying life as they can, jobs that pays good and great families. Although there are some with misfortunes here and there, but that is not a big deal. They still survive, and doing excellently well.

It is amazing what time can do to a person. There’s an old school mate of mine who changed totally from the person she was way back in school. Well one thing for sure, the school FORCED every girls to cover our head. I however managed to get way with it. But for the rest of the school, COVER it is. So when the girls leave school, those who are still not yet ready to cover their heads, removed their hijab.

That ain’t no big deal - because like what my late grandfather used to say, it has to come from your sincere heart.

Some girls who are goody - goody kind of student - loved by teachers for being the obedient lot, are now social drinker- smokes like crazy  and think wearing less is sexy. I actually don’t give a damn, because it is their right to do what ever they wanted to do. But the thing that irritates me is - THEY ARE SO DAMN PROUD OF IT and think it is COOL. And if you are not doing it  thus you are not COOL.

Ok .. here is what I GOT TO SAY

1- I don’t care if you want to sleep with whoever or even if you are homosexual - but .. do you have to say it out loud “aku ada org sponsor - LAKI ORANG..” And if you are saying it proudly, there must be some problems in our education system because clearly it has failed to tell you that one - it is wrong to engage in sexual relationships with married man and two - It makes it worst when you proudly announce it to everybody. Haven’t you heard of a modern malay saying - sendiri makan sendiri lah simpan?

2- I like to see all my Friends grew up to be a sexy/ modern/ intellectual and sophisticated woman, but do you have to tell people that “aku sekarang dah lain - seksi” —-> ohh my GOD? Seriously?

3- “I am a heavy drinker and I smoke” —> I respect your choice of lifestyle. Everybody has rights to choose, so what if you choose to drink and smoke or even do coke? But do you have to purposely call your friends and bragged about it? Although you think that it shows how cool you are, but actually it reflects on the kampungness you still had in you no matter how modern chick you think you are.

4-  There’s a male companion who said - I have 9 credit cards..( to reflect how well he is doing ) and i say.. does that not mean you re in huge debts?

Some people think If you drink/smokes and single you are bad. If you are covered/ married / wearing tons of jeweleries then you are doing fine.Well that is not true at all, sometimes people from the second category are even worst than those from the first category. At least people from the first category are being frank and honest with their personality. And some of them possessed a kind heart you might even think they are angels..

But people who are wannabeeeees and trying so hard to be in the first category, just because they think being bad is cool and popular… and later bragged about it, is just a pain in the ass..

with that i rest my case

It was a great opportunity to finally meet some old buddies from school. The Mini gathering was attended by Irma+ family, me + mon, Ainee +Amran +Husna (new member), fieda +myra, anid, peah and ruzaime. Amran elected as Mr. President conducted the meeting gracefully.

On agenda item XXX - The next Grand Reunion, the meeting agreed to have the reunion somewhere in March 2009 ( time aku tak de lah kan). Due to some important commitments, Mr. President left the meeting early and the next session was chaired by The president’s wife who then decided to add another agenda item under Other Matters.

The agenda item XXX+X is on The boat rides activity.

The meeting again agreed on consensus to go for a boat ride at  Putrajaya Lake. The meeting ends at about 5.30 with happiness and promises to meet again in the future!!!

Sickening?

Ok… before aku membebel dengan panjang lebar, please kindly refer to www.hmetro.com.my

Edisi hari ini ada gambar Norman Hakim tgh berdoa (supaya tidak terkantoi lagi?) I mean … what ever….

But again. Adalah sudah cukup meloyakan berita perceraian artis diberi front page coverage di dada akhbar utama. Fine, mungkin ada rakyat Malaysia yang lebey suka berita hiburan berbanding keadaan dunia or  negara khususnya pada hari ini…

What more sickening is—> sembahyang istikarah and berdoa pun nak masuk suratkhabar meh? Nak tunjuk apa sebenarnya nih?

“aku lah lelaki beriman yang memohon pertunjuk untuk meceraikan isteri ku?” uhuh?

Kenapa pula… masa kena tangkap khalwat — menyorok? Kalau tak bersalah? “Hey we are having professional discussion here .. and I AM NOT GUILTY!”

Well, what I can say.. keadaan artis di Malaysia sungguh menyedihkan - kawen pun nak buat live telecast? Hello? Ramai betul org felda nak tgk kamu bersanding?

Cerai sok (kalau tak panjang jodoh (jodoh pertemuan di tangan tuhan..)) kita buat live telecast gak nak???

Budus..

MRSM MUAR mini Gathering - Episode 3 ( Venue Info)

I’ve been posted with so many questions regarding this little gathering of ours.

Ok, the venue as we all agreed is at Putrajaya Lake Club. I would like to emphasize, that this is a MINI gathering, thus, it is way different from the gathering a.k.a reunion that we had years back. IF any of you feels like wanting to have a GRAND reunion, we could discuss this further during that MINI gathering.

For those who are not familiar with PUTRAJAYA, pleace check this link out, as it might be able to help you finding your way to Putrajaya Lake Club.http://www.etourz.com/kuala_lumpur/putrajaya_map.htm

The second thing is, I am not sure of how much is the buffet at lake club. But, we could also order ala carte foods - so the financial implications are depending on what food you decides to order.

I hope, I’ve cleared some of the FAQs.

See yaaaaaaaaaaaaa

a very warm hospitality

 Photobucket

I did international relations when I first joined civil service in 2002. I left international relations in 2005 ,to focus on other domestic fields. I am now back in the international arena, focusing on environment issues.

Last time I was in Korea it was an APT course. Now I am here for a meeting. Not in Seoul like last time, in a province called Changwon. Changwon is currently hosting the 10th Conference of Parties of the RAMSAR Convention on Wetlands. It is a convention , attended by about 135 contracting parties, to discuss, deliberates and make decisions on continuous efforts to preserve the wetlands and the environment as a whole.

BUT THIS IS NOT ABOUT THE MEETING. This is about the gestures of the host country that I have never encountered in other international meetings.

Yesterday, was the official opening ceremony. His Excellency President of Republic of Korea - President Lee Myung Bak officiated the meeting in a grand opening ceremony. Later last nite we were celebrated in a dinner hosted by Minister of Environment Korea.

Food in a foreign country has always been a problem for Muslims. Some countries simply just don’t understand that HALAL foods, are not merely pork-less foods. HALAL also means, the meat/ poultry/ mutton must be from a halal source ( slaughtered by a Muslim). Apart from that, a Muslim cant also consume any products containing lard, alcohol or any of that kind.

Most of the time in international meetings, Muslims will have to survive with fish or any vegetarians food. It is amazing how the world could respect the principal of a vegetarian and served special food for them but refused to understand the concept of HALAL.So walking into the dining hall last night I immediately asked for the vegetarians table. To my surprise the secretariat told me, they provided HALAL food and there’s actually few tables with HALAL tag!!.

Not impressive enough, under the menu cards, there’s an envelope containing a photocopy of the HALAL certificate of the company who’s providing the food for those HALAL tables. I was speechless, happy and impressed!

Thank you Korea, thank you Changwon. I do hope that this consideration will be continued by other countries who have plans to host any international meetings in the future.
