where was i?

I know. I am a sinner for not updating this page of mine, when I promised everyone that I will. Anyhow I AM BACK!!!

It is amazing how time passed, within a blink, I am going to celebrate my one month NEW YORK anniversary. And so many thing has happened within the past 3 weeks.

I reported for duty on 4th of May, and immidietly get my self a phone. Uhuhh. A blackberry people… ITS A BLACKBERRY. It is amazing how cheap the blackberry services here compared to what we have to pay back home. Oh, Mon got himself one too. And it’s super cool Ok!

Got my UN pass the next day and started to attend meetings. That UN meeting of mine ended at the wee hours… given me no opportunity what so ever to spend time BLOGGING !( ada paham? ) I also went house hunting. I made it clear to my house agent, that I want a place near to the office and..enable me to install washing machine and dryers. The thing I learnt about looking for a place in New York, especially in Manhattan, that most of the buildings are old buildings, and at the time when they were build, washing machine what more dryers were not yet invented. So some of the apartments did not have the facility to install washing machine and dryer within your apartment unit. What they have is a common laundry area, and their basement, so u could do your laundry there ( like what we seen in the movies.. masuk duit pastu tunggu)

So I have shortlisted 2, but have made my decision on the one with 2 bedrooms but is so damn near to the office . Which is cool. I dont want to walk so far especially in the winter.

Apart from that. I have manage to understand 5th avenue better. he he. last week Nine west had a 30% off on any shoes/sandals things going on. So mon and I went shoe hunting. We discover that all Nine West outlets in Manhattan closed at 1930 hrs but there’s one in Queen Plaza that closed at 2030 hrs. I mean what’s up with that? You are in the so called city that never sleeps but almost all of the shops closed at 1930 hrs? At KL everything closed at 2230!!!! So in that sense KL is so much better.

Makan is no big deal. I was introduced to Kak Liza. She is the wife to one of the officer here in Mission. Kak Liza sells lunch at USD6 per pack. So people. I still have my dosage of nasi lemak, ayam masak kicap, sambal udang, mee mamak, nasi beriyani, nasi kerabu… YOU NAME IT. Mon has also found the place where we could get our groceries and halal stuff. So when ever I am not buying from Kak Liza, Mon will cook. Eastgate the hotel where we are staying allow us to cook. Even the room is like a small apartment, with living and dining area, propper kitchen, bathroom and a bed room with 2 beds. It’s comfortable enough for us.

Work is challenging. the expectations are high. I am trying to learn as much as possible so I could full fill that expectations. I have my own room. Smaller than what I had back home, but I am ok with it. The best part about the office is, it is so near to the UN building and it was officiated by Tun Mahathir on 28 SEPTEMBER 1994 . Uhuhhh macam kenal jer date tu? Yup, I have told my officemates, that there’s no way you could not remember my birtday because it’s written on the wall at the entrance of the building. he he I hope it’s a good karma , feng shui what so ever.

The weather is getting better now compared to when we first arrived. Mon walked arround town in his shorts yesterday.It’s getting hotter now, but still a bit cold at night. So the conclusion is, life is great, still struggling to settle down. But I guessed I am doing ok.

Oh I forgot to tell you that it’s going to be a HUGE sale this weekend, as a celebration for Memorial Day! Unfortunately I could not do much as it took JPA more than 1 month to send the Kew 8 for my allowances. So , pandang jer la. Dapat gaji esok beli lah apa yang patut…
